The Little Things offers baby massage, and sensory music and movement classes in English, centrally located in Majorstuen, Oslo, Norway.
We believe that life is composed of little and life-changing moments. It can be so easy to get swept up in the big picture that we forget to relish in the joy that the little things in life create. At The Little Things, we provide those little moments that we hope will make a big difference for you and your little one.
Abbie Bergesen, the owner and instructor, has a bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Science with a focus on early childhood education and Master of Science in International Social Welfare and Health Policy. She is trained as a Babywearing Peer Support and a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (IAIM).
She brings a generous spirit of openness, warmth, creativity and insightfulness to each of the classes and events she leads with the
intention of making The Little Things a welcoming, inspiring, supportive place for everyone.
We provide a safe and non-judgmental platform from which new parents can share experiences, learn and exchange information with the intention of easing the transition into parenthood and providing a foundation upon which new friendships can be forged.
Abbie is passionate about research and education and the effects of sensory play, positive nurturing touch, infant massage, and raising awareness of the benefits it can have on the health and happiness of babies and their caregivers.
Our goal is to help you strengthen the bond you have with your child by sharing new experiences while simultaneously providing a stimulating environment in which your baby can learn, grow, and thrive.
Infant massage classes are a fun way to learn how to soothe your baby, relieve upset tummies, learn to understand your baby’s non-verbal language and much, much more. Our classes not only teach the mechanics of a massage routine, but also different styles of touch, movement, interaction and communication. Our classes are informal, relaxed, and small enough to ensure you get the personal attention you need.
Why Take a Class?
The easiest and most thorough way to learn to massage your baby is with the help of an IAIM Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI). The strokes and styles of massage are easier to grasp when demonstrated by our experienced instructor. Pressure, rate, rhythm, the length of the massage, respect, bonding, why babies cry, babies’ body language, relaxation, and parent empowerment are some of the skills and topics you will learn.
